Dr. David Shen, a New York City native, has been involved in vision and eyecare for over 20 years. He performed his undergraduate studies at the Ivy League campus of Cornell University and went on to receive his Doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley (Valedictorian). He subsequently performed his residency in ocular disease at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Shen has held faculty positions at the University of California, Berkeley and became Founder and Director of Optometric Services at the Vanderbilt Laser Sight Center with Dr. Ming Wang in 1999. As residents of Franklin, Dr. Shen along with his wife, Wendy, are greatly enthused about being part of the extraordinary fabric of the Franklin community. We look forward to taking care of the visual and eyecare needs of members of this beautiful community over the coming years!



Dr. Amy Sickman is pleased to provide comprehensive patient-centered eye care as part of the Vue Optique team. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she attended the University of Missouri where she received her degree in Biological Sciences with a Spanish minor. Dr. Sickman graduated magna cum laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During optometry school, she was involved in Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, a student organization that provides vision and eye health exams to communities living in poverty and participated in mission trips to Honduras, Mexico, and Colombia. Following optometry school, Dr. Sickman completed an additional year of advanced residency training at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Virginia.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and running. Amy and her husband, Billy, reside in the greater Nashville area.
